Stuart Grinstain has over thirty years of professional Architectural experience. His design and project management experience
includes both large and small projects spanning hospitality, residential, corporate and recreational environments. He is
particularly passionate about transforming programmatic requirements into built environments that foster a sense of place and promote memorable experiences for their users. Mr. Grinstain established SG Architecture in 2010.
Mr. Grinstain attended California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo and received his Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1980. Stuart then pursued a post graduate degree while working towards his professional license, and was awarded a Master’s degree from the Southern California Institute of

Architecture in 1986. Both of these
institutions contributed to his well-rounded
education in technical expertise and design
theory. His Master’s thesis project was
published in the September 1987 issue of
Architecture Magazine.
Mr. Grinstain has worked under several highly regarded Architects. Early in his career he was employed by Johannes Van Tilburg and Partners in Santa Monica, California. While there he participated in the design and construction of several high profile projects including the Torie Steele boutiques on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, and a single family residence in the Santa Monica Mountains that was featured in the February 1987 issue of Architectural Digest.

Mr. Grinstain was also employed as a staff
architect for the Urban Innovations Group,
a practice arm of UCLA’s Graduate School
of Architecture. While there he was able to
work with Charles Moore FAIA, an
internationally respected architect and
winner of the prestigious AIA Gold Medal
in 1991.
From 2000 to 2010 Mr. Grinstain was employed by Williams + Paddon Architects as a senior designer. While there he designed several award winning hospitality related projects.
